Description
Vine House, located on Vine Street, was built in 1764, likely designed by the local architect John Langwith, who also designed the nearby Vicarage. This three-storey building is constructed of brick and features a pantile roof. It has projecting bands between the storeys and below the parapet. The central wooden porch is supported by Doric columns and features an entablature, leading to a six-panelled door with an ornamental wood fanlight. On either side of the doorway, there are Venetian windows. The first floor has five windows with square heads and stone keystones, while the central square-headed window on the second floor has three lights, flanked by semi-circular windows. There is a passageway on the left side with a round-headed entrance and one narrow recess on each floor above. Vine House is part of a group with Nos. 5 to 9.
