Description
No. 6 St Peter's Hill is a building dating from the mid-17th century, with later alterations. It has two storeys and attics, and is rendered and painted. The roof is made of stone and Welsh slate, featuring two gabled dormers and a stone stack. The building has overhanging boxed eaves.
On the left side, there is a canted bay window that extends over two storeys and has six lights. The moulded string course runs along the heads of the ground floor windows, which have modern glazing bars and are set in mullion windows. Above the entrance, there is a two-light mullion window over a four-panel door (two of which are glazed) set in a stone reveal with a bolection-moulded cornice. A foot scraper is present at the entrance.
To the right, there is a three-light mullion window above a double-hung sash window that features glazing bars and a moulded cornice. The mullions are also moulded and have a cornice. The building is located at a corner, with an oversailing gable end on the St Peter's Street elevation to the north, which has recently exposed half-timbering.
