Description

Two houses, dating from around 1800 and later used as offices for the Department of Employment, are constructed of red brick with a hipped slate roof, overhanging eaves, and two chimney stacks. The two-storey, six-bay front is defined by a first-floor band. Each house has four steps leading up to a central doorway featuring a semi-circular head, a painted architrave, a fanlight with radiating spokes, and a recessed panelled door. To either side of each doorway are four larger glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor, and six smaller glazing bar sashes above; all windows have cambered heads and flush wedge painted lintels with keystones.
