Description

Red House is a late 18th-century house located on the north side of Jarvis Gate, Sutton St. James. The house is constructed of red brick with a rendered plinth, and has a slate roof with a left gable and single ridge chimney stacks. A first-floor band runs around the building. It is two storeys high and four bays wide. The front features a doorway with a decorative panelled door, overlight, and trellis porch. To the left of the doorway is a single glazing bar sash window, and to the right, a single similar sash window. A single blocked window opening is on the far right. Above are three similar glazing bar sashes. All window and door openings have segmental heads.
