Description

The Elms is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with later 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof, topped by a central ridge stack. The house stands on a plinth and has a first-floor band. Its plan is lobby-entry and it is two storeys high, with five bays. The central doorway has a panelled door, an overlight, and a moulded surround. To the right of the doorway are two sash windows with glazing bars; to the left is a single similar sash window, with a blocked window opening beside it. Above, there are three sash windows with glazing bars, with blocked window openings above the doorway and to the far left. The upper-floor windows have wooden lintels, while the ground-floor openings have flush wedge brick lintels.
