Description
This is a terrace of six almshouses built in 1860 for Sir John Sutton. The almshouses are constructed of red brick featuring blue brick small and large diamond patterns. The roof is made of fishscale tiles and plain tiles, with two gable end and two ridge moulded stacks. There is a plinth and a first floor band. The building is 1½ storeys high and has six bays, supported by five deep buttresses, with the end ones projecting diagonally from the corners. Each almshouse has a plank door with a segment head and a three-light leaded pane casement window, also with a segment head, all featuring alternating red and white brick voussoirs. Above, there are six gabled dormers with through eaves, each containing two-light leaded pane casements.
