Description

West House is an early 19th-century house situated on West Street, Brant Broughton and Stragglethorpe. The house is constructed of brick and has a slate, hipped roof, with two brick end wall stacks. It features bracketed wooden eaves. The two-storey, three-bay facade is characterised by a central doorway with a moulded wooden surround, topped with brackets and an open pediment; the doorway contains a six-panel door and a fanlight. It is flanked by a single glazing bar sash window to each side, with three similar sashes above, all with flat ashlar, painted lintels. Attached to the front are 19th-century spiked railings and a matching gate.
