Description

The iron footbridge at Boughton House is a Grade II listed structure from the late 18th century. It spans a ha-ha in front of Boughton House and is made of cast iron by Howden of Boston. The bridge features an arched base adorned with pierced circles and lozenges. The grated steps lead up to the center of the bridge, while the sides are fitted with lyre-shaped pierced iron balusters that have spoked circles at their bases. The ramped handrails are elegantly wreathed at the ends and are supported by tapering balusters with a turned design.
