Description
Church Farm House is a farmhouse that dates from the 17th century, with early 18th-century alterations and further modifications in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a slate roof with two yellow brick gable stacks. The building is designed in a U-plan and is two stories tall with a five-bay front that has a moulded plinth.
The central doorway has been blocked and now contains a fixed two-light window with a top-hung casement, flanked by pairs of plain casements. On the first floor, there are five similar windows. All openings are topped with plain ashlar lintels that include keyblocks. To the left of the main house is an attached single-storey service block with one bay, which now features a single glazing bar sash window with a plain ashlar lintel. This service block has chamfered late 17th-century girders, while the main house includes a cupboard with early 18th-century raised and fielded panelled doors.
