Description

The south-west outbuilding at Somerton Castle is the base of a circular tower that dates back to the 14th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and represents the lower stages of the original tower, which was situated at the corner of the castle walls. This section is now integrated with 19th-century farm buildings. The site is recognized as an Ancient Monument.
