Description
The Old House is a cottage that dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a pantile ridge roof with red brick stacks at both ends and along the ridge. The northern section of the cottage is a 17th-century cross wing, which has a stone-coped gable topped with a finial and flush quoins. This part is two stories high and consists of a single bay, with two and three-light sliding casements that include glazing bars. The southern section is an early 18th-century addition, which is a single story plus an attic. It has a central panelled door, three sliding casements to the south, and a smaller casement to the north. There is also a sliding casement attic window in the south gable.
