Description
The Adam and Eve Public House is a public house located on Lindum Road in Lincoln. It dates from the late 17th century, with additions made in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed rubble that has been whitewashed, topped with a steep pitched pantile roof, which features a catslide roof at the rear. It has two storeys plus attics and consists of five bays.
The south front includes a central gabled brick addition that is rendered and features four casements and a 20th-century bow window. To the right, there is a glazed lean-to room, while to the left, a 20th-century bay window and a door are situated in the return angle. Above these, there are two small casements and a near-central segment headed dormer. The west gable has two 20th-century three-light casements, and above, to the right, there is a single 19th-century two-light casement on each floor.
Inside, the interior retains remnants of the former west gable, including a chamfered fireplace surround, along with chamfered spine beams and cleft joists.
