Description

The garden temple, located 75 meters west of the Lincolnshire College of Art and Design, is an early 19th-century structure that now serves as an office. It is built of ashlar stone and features a flat roof in the Doric style, inspired by the Choragic Monument of Thrasyllus. The front of the temple is pilastered, with an enriched frieze and cornice, and has a coped parapet that is broken in the center of each elevation. At the rear wall, there is an octagonal stack. The temple is a single storey with a central 20th-century door that has a moulded, eared Egyptian architrave and an overlight. Above the parapet, there is a seated figure of Niobe. The interior has not been inspected.
