Description
The close wall to the south and west of Edward King House is a Grade I listed structure located in Lincoln. This corner section of the wall dates from the late 13th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed from dressed stone and features a stepped pantile coping. The wall is L-shaped, extending southwards from the diocesan offices and then eastwards towards the remains of the Bishop's Palace, measuring approximately 100 meters by 70 meters. The east-west section includes four buttresses and an angle buttress at the south-west corner. The wall is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, County No. 19.
