Description
22 and 22A Newland are two houses that have been converted into offices. They were built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. The buildings are made of brick and feature slate and pantile roofs, with two gable stacks and one ridge stack. They are two and three storeys tall and have an L-shaped plan.
The north front has a central doorway with a fielded panelled door. To the left of the door is a glazing bar sash window, with a blocked opening above it. To the right, there is another glazing bar sash window and a plain sash window above, followed by a smaller sash window. All these openings have rubbed brick heads.
The north-east gable features a canted bay window that is two storeys high, with three glazing bar sashes on each floor and a smaller sash above. To the left, there is a two-storey range with an off-centre glazing bar sash flanked by two six-panel doors, the right door having a moulded wood surround. Above the right door is a large glazing bar sash, and to the left is a smaller sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
