Description
The gateway to the stable block at Hainton Hall, with flanking screen walls, dates from around 1807 and is possibly designed by Peter Atkinson. It is constructed of ashlar with a colourwashed render. The central feature is a tall round-headed archway, which is flanked by giant order Doric pilasters, a cornice, and a blocking course. Smaller pilasters support the archivolt. There are round-headed, pilastered archways to the north and south, along with a tall round-headed eastern archway that also features Doric pilasters. The gateway is flanked by lower screen walls, each with a plinth and four blind round-headed archways that have ashlar imposts.
