Description

The building is a school and schoolmaster's house, constructed between 1846 and 1847, with an enlargement in 1886. It is made of coursed limestone rubble with limestone ashlar dressings and features slate roofs with stone coped gables. The gables have projecting stacks with tall polygonal ashlar shafts that have rippled edges.

The school section, located to the right, is a single-storey structure with a five-bay front. The second, fourth, and fifth bays on the left project forward. There is a doorway in the right return of the second bay to the left, which has a moulded four-centred head, a rectangular hood mould, and a plank door. To the left of this doorway is a two-light rectangular window. The end bay to the right features a single window with three round-headed lights and a hood mould. To the left of the projecting bay, there is a similar window with single light windows that have pointed heads flanking the projecting stack.

The schoolmaster's house is set back slightly to the left and is attached to the school. It has a doorway to the right with a four-centred head, a hood mould, and a plank door. Above, there is a small gabled bellcote with a bell opening that has a Caernarvon head and a bell. The schoolmaster's house is two storeys high with two bays, featuring two windows, each with three lights and pointed heads. There are two additional windows above, each with two pointed lights. The Heneage coat of arms is set between the windows.
