Description

The Grange is a mid-18th century house, altered in the late 19th century, located on North Beck Road. The house is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a thatched roof and brick coped tumbled gables featuring kneelers and gable stacks. It is two storeys high, with a garret, and has a three-bay front. A band runs across the first floor and along the gable. A distinctive dogtooth eaves course is present. A pent roofed extension from the 19th century extends from the ground floor, incorporating a central half-glazed door flanked by single side lights and tripartite sash windows. The first floor has a central glazing bar sash window flanked by similar tripartite windows. The original windows had cambered brick arch heads, which remain.
