Description
The Old Rectory is a rectory that has been converted into a house. It was built in the mid-18th century, with an early 19th-century extension and mid-19th-century alterations, designed by architect William Pickering. The building is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves. There is a single brick stack on the right side and at the front, along with two more at the rear.
The façade consists of five bays on the first floor, with a band to the right. The structure is two storeys high and has six bays in total. The leftmost bay is from the 19th century and projects outwards. A mid-19th-century brick porch with a parapet and a dentil band is located at the entrance, which features a hood mould and an inner glazed and panelled door. To the right of the entrance are three sash windows, while to the left is a single sash window of similar style. On the far left, there is another single glazing bar sash. Above these, there are five similar sash windows, with an additional single glazing bar sash on the far left. All the sash windows, except for the single left window on the first floor, are set under segmental arches. The building also has seven tie plates.
