Description
The Rising Sun is a public house that has been converted into a single cottage, dating from the mid 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with a pantile roof and features two red brick gable stacks. The gables are coped with render, and the eaves display a dogtooth pattern. There is a rendered plinth at the base of the building. The structure is a single storey plus attic and consists of four bays.
To the right, there is a gabled wooden porch with a glazed door. To the right of the porch is a single sash window, while to the left is a blocked doorway, and on the far left is another similar sash window. All ground floor openings, except for the porch, are set under segmental arches. Above, there are two sloping roof dormers, each containing a single Yorkshire sash window. The building also features two circular tie plates.
