Description

This mid-18th century school, later used as a house, has undergone alterations in the late 18th and mid-19th centuries. Constructed of red brick and colourwashed brick, with slate and pantile roofing, it features a stone-coped gable to the southwest, decorative eaves, three gable stacks, and a single ridge stack. The building is arranged in a T-shape.

The west front presents two storeys and four bays from the early 18th century, with a colourwashed finish. Two bays were added in the late 18th century to the southwest, and a three-storey projecting brick bay was built in the mid-19th century to the northeast. The left side of the west front has a doorway with a simple moulded doorcase and a blind traceried overlight above a panelled door. This doorway is flanked by single tripartite sash windows. To the right is a doorway with a plain moulded doorcase and panelled door, beyond which is a rectangular blind opening. Above, four sash windows with segmental heads are visible, with two blind rectangular openings to the right, also with segmental heads. In the projecting bay, a single sash window is situated to the left, above which is another sash window with a segmental head.
