Description

Nos. 54 and 54A on West Street is a house that has been converted into two dwellings, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, with some areas rendered, and features a concrete tile roof with stone-coped gables, moulded wooden eaves, and gable stacks. The building has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys high with a garret. The front is five bays wide, including two early 19th-century bays on the right. There is a doorway on the left with a plain moulded doorcase, an overlight, and a panelled door. To the left of the doorway is one glazing bar sash window, and to the right are three glazing bar sash windows. Above, there are four glazing bar sash windows, all featuring segmental heads.
