Description
The Crown Inn is a public house that dates back to the late 17th century, with significant alterations made around 1840 and a minor addition in the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof with a single gable and axial ridge stacks. The building has a baffle entry plan and stands two stories tall with a four-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre half-glazed door, which is sheltered by a timber porch. To the left of the door is a single margin light sash window, while to the right are two similar sash windows. On the first floor, there are four matching windows, all of which have flat brick arches.
To the left, there is a lower two-storey, two-bay addition that includes a two-light casement window on the left and a 20th-century projection on the right. The first floor of this addition features two sliding sash windows, all with segmental brick heads. Above the door, there is a painted date of 1762. The interior of the building retains a chamfered and stopped girder.
