Description

The wall to the forecourt of the Magistrates Court, built between 1841 and 1843 by Charles Kirk of Sleaford, is constructed of ashlar and features cast-iron elements. The wall has moulded copings and is supported by nine piers, each adorned with Gothic traceried panels. The end and gate piers are square with chamfered edges and topped with crenellations. The piers beside the main entrance are decorated with heraldic beasts holding shields, while the narrower intermediate piers are gabled. Additionally, there is a cast-iron screen of railings.
