Description

The bridge over Lade Bank Drain Number 2, built around 1805, is likely the work of John Rennie. It is constructed of red brick with gritstone capping and features a single span with a deep elliptical arch. The bridge has a brick band and battered curved sides, with the parapet having been rebuilt in the 19th century, curving to the end piers. A cast iron plate displaying the raised number 2 is located in the center of the arch. This bridge is one of several similar structures designed by John Rennie during the drainage of the Fens.
