Description
This is a farmhouse, dating to the mid-18th century, with a 19th-century extension to the rear and minor 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a slate roof and two brick gable stacks and one ridge stack. The two-storey, four-bay front has a first-floor band and dentillated, moulded wooden eaves. The facade is arranged in a 1:1:2 pattern, with the second entry bay slightly prominent. A 20th-century door with a traceried overlight is set within a wood-panelled surround that has a narrow, flat lead hood. There are single and double sash windows to the ground floor, and four similar windows above, all with segmental brick heads.
Inside, the farmhouse retains two contemporary fireplaces, which may have been relocated. One is an early 18th-century bolection moulded fireplace, and the other is a later 18th-century example featuring a fluted keystone. A semi-circular headed niche is also present. The dogleg staircase has knopped and turned balusters with a moulded handrail. At the left-hand end of the house is a large, elliptical arched fireplace flanked by semi-circular openings.
