Description

Butterwick Mill is a tower mill built in 1871. It features a tapering tower made of tarred red brick and has corbelled out eaves. The mill is three storeys high and has a planked doorway with a glazing bar fixed light opening on each side, both with brick segmental heads. Inside, there are three pairs of millstones: two are grey stones and one is a French stone. One pair of stones is equipped with a direct underdrive powered by an engine, and it also includes iron gearing.
