Description

Acresford House is a house dating from around 1800, located in Oakthorpe and Donisthorpe. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring brick eaves and a painted stone sill band at the first floor. The building has mostly flat gauged brick lintels and a hipped roof covered with plain tiles from the 20th century.

The house has two symmetrical red brick ridge stacks and a concreted plinth. It stands two storeys tall with three windows on each floor. The upper floor has 3/3 sash windows, while the ground floor features 6/6 sash windows, with the central window set in a round-headed recess that has a blank arched head. To the right of this recess is a round-headed doorway with a radiating fanlight.

On the left end, there is a one-storey gabled extension that includes a 6/6 sash window. The right end of the house has three windows, with a central projecting gable that has a brick dentilled pediment. This projection contains a tripartite arrangement of windows: a 2/2 sash, a 6/6 sash, and another 2/2 sash, all below a wooden mullion and a cambered brick lintel. There are blank doorways on either side of this projection, and above it is a round-headed window that breaks the sill band. To the left, there is a 6/6 sash window with a 3/3 sash above it, and to the right, an 8/8 sash window with a 6/6 sash above it, also breaking the sill band.

The rear of the house has been altered and rendered, featuring 2-light casements and windows from the 19th and 20th centuries, along with a porch and doors.
