Description
The Old Vicarage is a house that underwent mid-19th century remodeling of an 18th-century building, possibly with earlier origins. There is a late 19th-century extension on the right side. The structure is roughcast with a tiled roof and has flanking roughcast chimneys. It stands two storeys high with an attic. The main block in the center features four bays of late 19th to early 20th-century sashes without glazing bars, all set within rendered architrave surrounds. A 20th-century skylight is located in the third bay, which also contains a four-panelled door with a blind panelled fanlight and a wooden architrave frame. The mid-19th-century rendered porch has a semicircular arch with a keyblock, flanked by Doric pilasters and topped with a moulded cornice. To the left, there is a lower two-storey bay that is set back, featuring 20th-century wooden casements, with the ground floor window displaying three leaded lights. The 19th-century extension on the right has a slightly projecting coped gable and a two-storey canted bay window. The rear of the building has irregular windows, including a tall staircase window. The Old Vicarage is included for its group value.
