Description

Daleacre Farmhouse is a house dated 1786, as indicated by a brick inscription in the left gable end. It is constructed of red brick on a stone base, with dentil eaves and a tiled roof, featuring brick chimneys to the left and between the left bays. The main block is a large, imposing three-storey building with a cellar, and comprises three bays. The ground and first floors have tripartite sash windows with cambered heads, while the second floor has three-light horizontal sliding sashes. A six-panelled door with a rectangular fanlight, sheltered by a flat wooden hood on scroll brackets, is positioned between the right bays, with blind window panels above. To the left is a lower, one-and-a-half-storey kitchen wing, set back, featuring a flush-panelled door and wooden casements. This wing extends as a range of outbuildings, which are not of special architectural interest. The right gable end of the main block is largely blind except for a two-light cellar window with a chamfered stone surround and mullion. At the rear, a central stair projection with a catslide roof and two 19th-century gabled extensions are visible.
