Description

Cavendish Cottages comprise a row of three cottages, originally four, located near Cavendish Bridge in Castle Donington. The two cottages on the left were built in the early 19th century, with No. 5 to the right added slightly later. The cottages are constructed of red brick, with a paler hue for No. 5, and have slate roofs and brick chimneys. The building is two storeys high and consists of five bays. The bays to the right are slightly lower and feature dentil eaves. The windows are 2-light horizontal sash windows with small panes. There are three 20th-century board doors, and a barred wooden window is located in a blocked doorway between the right bays. The ground floor openings have segmental heads on the left side and cambered heads on the right. A 20th-century double door with a wooden lintel is present at the ground floor of the left bay.
