Description

A pair of cottages located in Castle Donington, dating to the early 19th century. The cottages are built of red brick with a slate roof, featuring brick chimneys, with the right-hand chimney rebuilt and truncated. They are two storeys high, with a basement, and have two bays. The eaves are dentil-moulded. The front of the cottages contains two-light horizontal sash windows with small panes, and two central boarded doors. The ground floor window and door openings have cambered heads, while the upper floor openings have segmental heads. Double flights of 20th-century brick and stone steps with 20th-century iron railings lead to the doors. The rear of the cottages features a high stone wall to the cellar and two bays of 20th-century two-light wooden casement windows.
