Description
This is an early 19th century terrace of fifteen houses located on South Street. The houses are built of red brick, with a moulded eaves cornice and a stucco band at the level of the first-floor window sills. They have slate roofs. The terrace has three storeys and originally contained fifteen windows, which are mostly sash windows with glazing bars. The windows have incised stucco lintels finished with keystones. At the northeast end of number 15, there is a contemporary angular bay window on the ground floor. Number 13 has a carriageway arch leading to the rear. Number 10 has a replacement ground floor constructed of red brick banded with stone, featuring a central pair of arches and a balustrade above. The remaining houses have doorcases with fluted architraves and console brackets supporting flat canopies. The original doors are six-panelled, with some now having glazed upper panels. They are topped with rectangular fanlights.
