Description
The Old Rectory is a large house that was rebuilt between 1852 and 1853, designed by Robert Jennings of Atherstone. It features Flemish bond brickwork with stone dressings and has a slate roof with various chimney stacks, although only one of the original design remains. The building is two stories high and square in plan. The north side includes two gables, one of which slightly projects, and a recessed doorway with a two-centred moulded stone arch. There is an expressed chimney on the left-hand gable, and the windows are diamond leaded and six-light sash windows. The south elevation has a coped gable with a trefoil finial and kneelers, along with stone mullion and transomed windows. The plans and elevations for the building are held at the Leicestershire Record Office.
