Description
Manor Farmhouse comprises two distinct sections, reflecting different building periods. The eastern part is an early 18th-century two-story block, potentially incorporating an earlier timber-framed core. It is constructed with Flemish bond brickwork upon an ashlar plinth, accented by a projecting brick string course above the ground floor. The building has a two-unit plan with the fireplace backing onto the entrance. A six-panel door is set back within a moulded frame featuring panelled rebates. Casement windows are present, with those on the ground floor having segmental brick arched heads. A rendered gable and a steep-pitched roof complete this section. The western portion is a late 18th-century three-story block, also built with Flemish bond brickwork upon an ashlar plinth. This section is four window bays wide and features twelve-light sash windows with gauged brick heads. The different builds are evident as the eastern end has a stone eaves cornice, suggesting it is the earlier of the two. The building is relatively narrow in depth when viewed from the western elevation, with sash windows grouped in threes on each floor. It has a hipped roof with a modern covering.
