Description

Packington House is a house from the late 18th century and early 19th century, constructed of red brick with brick dentilled eaves and a plain tile roof featuring end stacks. The building has two spans, each from different periods. The entrance front, which is the earlier part, stands three storeys high and is built in Flemish bond with stone-coped gables. It features three sash windows: a 3/3 window on the second floor and 6/6 windows below. The windows have stucco lintels and stone sill bands. To the left of the central entrance, which has a simple doorcase and a canopy, there is an early 20th-century bay window. The entrance door is part-glazed and consists of six panels with an overlight.

To the right of the entrance, there is a three-storey, one-window extension with an attic featuring a 4/8 sash window and casements below. There is also a one-storey extension to the left. The rear of the house has three storeys with four vertically grouped windows in projecting brick sections. The second floor has 3/6 sashes with flat lintels, while the lower floor has 6/6 windows with cambered lintels and stone sills. The centre-right section features a round-arched doorcase with a tripartite design, including narrow three-pane lights on either side of a four-panelled door. The right end of the building is rendered, while the left end has an extension with casements.
