Description
Stonehouse Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1800. It is built of ashlar stone with a slate roof, featuring two brick end stacks and shouldered stone coped gables. The building has a T-plan with a projection at the rear. It stands three storeys high and has three sash windows; the second floor has 4/4 panes, while the other floors have 8/8 panes. A central bull's eye window is located on the first floor. Below this is a round-headed arch that contains a door and a round-headed three-panel overlight with curved astragals. The windows have stone sills and lintels throughout.
On the right end, there is a one-storey extension that is contemporary with the main house, along with a stone wall extending to the right. The long rear wing is also three storeys high and features a ridge stack and a projecting 20th-century end stack. This wing includes two- and three-light casements, a door, and a 20th-century French window. In the left angle between the main range and the wing, there is a contemporary one-storey extension. In the right angle at the rear of the main range, there is an 8/8 window with a two-light window above it. Behind the wing, there is a long one-storey range of outhouses with slate and corrugated roofs.
