Description
Nos 3 to 5 South Parade is a late 18th-century building designed symmetrically. It features a red brick facade with a moulded eaves cornice and a blocking course, topped with a slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has nine windows, with the central three set forward under a pediment. Pilasters flank the centre and outer sides of the building.
No 3 has sash windows with glazing bars, except for the top floor, which has modern casements in the original sash spaces. It also has a modern shop front. No 4 features a moulded cornice that extends across the pediment and a lunette in the tympanum. The first-floor windows are set in round-arched recesses, and the ground floor has a modern shop front. The first and second-floor windows are sash windows with glazing bars.
No 5 has sash windows with glazing bars, except for the ground floor, which has a 19th or early 20th-century shop front with reeded pilasters. There is an entrance to the rear on the south side, which includes a six-panelled door and a fanlight.
Nos 1 to 6 South Parade form a group with The Bell Hotel and No 4 Nottingham Street.
