Description

27 Market Place is a building dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It features chequered brickwork, wide eaves, and a bracketed cornice. The roof is not visible. The building has three storeys and three windows, with the top floor windows having stuccoed lintels and modern glazing in the original sash spaces. The first floor has a large display window from the late 19th or early 20th century, which includes a dentil cornice and pilasters. The ground floor shop front, altered in the late 19th or early 20th century, retains its outer consoles and cornice. This building is included for its group value with No 26, as they form a cohesive architectural group.
