Description
This stable, located 5 meters southeast of The Limes, was built in 1683 and altered in 1836, with a 20th-century addition. It is constructed from coursed and squared ironstone and has a slate roof. The building features a plinth and a single brick ridge stack. It is a single-storey structure with three bays.
The west front has an off-centre plank door, with a 19th-century casement window to the left and a blocked window to the right, beyond which is a 19th-century casement inserted in a blocked doorway. All openings have wooden lintels. The east side includes an off-centre stable door and an unglazed opening to its right, followed by a 20th-century lean-to brick addition with a doorway. The south gable has a small square central opening, above which is a 19th-century tilting light with a wooden lintel. Above this, there is a datestone inscribed 'MCE 1683', and above that, another datestone inscribed 'HJE 1836'. This stable is included for its group value only.
