Description

The former Marquis of Granby Public House is an early 19th-century building, likely with earlier origins, and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with a glazed pantile roof, and has brick end and ridge stacks. The building has a three-part plan and a two-storey, four-window facade. A double-leaf, six-panel door is located to the left of the centre, with a segmental arch above. A porch with canted sides and a six-panel door is situated to the far right. Canted bay windows are present to the far left and to the right of the centre, all with segmental-arched heads. The first floor has a two-light casement window to the left and a similar casement to the right, both with stone lintels and key blocks. Quoins and a stone-coped gable are visible on the right-hand side only. Inside, the building features stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
