Description
The Royal Horseshoes Public House is a mid to late 17th-century building that has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone and features a thatched roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building is designed in an L shape and stands two stories high with a three-window range. There is a 20th-century door and porch located to the left of the center. A canted bay window is positioned at the far left, while a two-light casement window with a wooden lintel is found to the right of the center on the ground floor. A two-light dormer window with a barge-boarded gable is located at the far left, and a three-light casement window is situated in an eyebrow dormer on the first floor to the right of the center. The cross wing on the far right features a three-light casement window on the ground floor and a two-light casement window on the first floor, both with wooden lintels. The cross wing also has a stone-coped gable with kneelers.
