Description
Manor Farmhouse and Easthorpe Manor are a farmhouse, now divided into two houses, with origins in the 17th century, altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. The south range of the building dates back to the 17th century and was altered in the 18th century. It is constructed of colourwashed ironstone and brick, with a north block built around 1820 in brick. Both ranges have pantiled roofs.
The south range is two storeys high and features tripartite sashes with glazing bars on the ground floor. The first floor has late 18th-century casements. An east block projects slightly to the south, with a door in the re-entrant angle. The area has a brick dentil eaves cornice. The gabled roof features a tall ridge stack set to the left of centre.
Inside, there are chamfered 18th-century bridging beams, evidence of blocked 17th-century windows, and two 17th-century four-centred chimney-pieces. One of these is blocked and the other has been exposed and relocated. The roof structure includes ties, principals, butt purlins, and collars.
The north block abuts the south range and is an addition of one build. It is two storeys high in three bays, with a platband marking the division between the storeys. A gabled brick porch from the 1840s is flanked by late 19th-century sashes on each side. Three similar sashes are on the first floor, with a dentil eaves cornice below the gabled roof. The north block has internal gable-end stacks and a ridge stack right of centre.
