Description

Farmhouse. It has origins in the 17th century, with additions from the late 18th century and alterations in the early 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of coursed ironstone with some limestone dressings, and has a slate roof to the main range. It is two storeys high with an attic. The west gable retains a single three-light stone mullioned casement window with ovolo moulding on each of the principal floors. The south front is irregular, comprising a three-bay element to the right and a tall sash window to the left, which illuminates the staircase. A 20th-century glazed door is located in the right side of the elevation, flanked by 19th-century tripartite sash windows on either side, repeated in the upper floor. A single sash window is situated between the upper windows. The east part of the front, dating from the 19th century, is defined by a gable-end stack to the east and a ridge stack to the west. The west, 17th-century part has a square section gable-end stack on a square plinth. A two-storey late 18th-century service wing extends to the rear with 20th-century windows.
