Description

The Homestead is a farmhouse dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a projecting wing that is timber-framed with brick infill, while the main structure is built of red brick in an irregular bond, topped with slate roofs and brick ridge and end stacks. The timber-framed wing on the left has large square panels filled with herringbone brick, set on an ironstone plinth. Struts support the wall plate, and there are central pairs of uprights extending from the plinth to the wall plate on three visible sides, each with splayed feet. The main range facing the street has a six-panel, part-glazed door located to the left of the center, framed with a moulded wood surround and topped with a gabled hood supported by brackets. To the left on the ground floor, there is a three-light casement window with a segmental-arched head and shutters. The first floor features two-light casement windows with wooden lintels, along with other blocked windows. The interior has not been inspected.
