Description
There are two headstones located 3 meters south of the south nave aisle of the Church of St Peter in Redmile. One headstone commemorates James Handly and family, dated 1694-1710, while the other is for William Handly, dated 1699, and Christopher Handly, dated 1702. Both headstones are made of Swithland slate. The first headstone is rectangular and features an incised winged cherub above a plain inscription. The second headstone is also rectangular and has a circular inscription panel with incised winged cherubs in the top spandrels.
