Description

Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with colour washed brick panels and a thatched roof, which has a single raised brick gable, a single bargeboard, and two red brick gable stacks. The building has a T-plan layout and is two storeys high with an irregular three-bay front, including a gable on the right side. The central entrance is a 20th-century door, flanked by a pair of three-light plain casement windows with segmental brick heads. On the first floor, there are two two-light plain casement windows. The main bay posts are supported by straight braces to the tie or wall plate. Please note that the 20th-century brick retail block attached to the right side of the building is not included in this description.
