Description
The war memorial in Hinckley, located on Church Lane, was built around 1920 in a neo-Gothic style. It is made of stone and features engraved copper panels. The structure includes a stone plinth that supports a hexagonal pedestal topped with three crosses. Above this, a canopy is formed by three cusped concave pointed arches, with figures of praying angels positioned between them and pinnacles at the back. The memorial is crowned by a hexagonal crocketed spire adorned with a floral finial. Names of the fallen are engraved on panels on three sides of the pedestal, while the other three sides feature pinnacles with tracery panels that lead to the center of the canopied area.
