Description

The stables and barn, located approximately 20 meters north-east of Odstone Hill Farmhouse, date from the late 18th century. They are constructed of red brick and topped with a slate roof, featuring an L-shaped plan. The stables run roughly north-south, while the barn is positioned to the north-west and aligned east-west.

The east front is mostly blind, with only a few small inserted windows. It has a central pedimented break topped with a cupola, and lower wings that end in a pair of pedimented gables. The right-hand gable is part of the barn, which was altered when it was re-roofed in the late 19th century. Much of this facade is obscured by later farm buildings.

On the west front, there are two storeys with dentilled eaves and a central break that rises higher than the main structure, featuring a pedimented gable with an open lunette. Below this is a segmental-headed door flanked by a pair of circular openings. To the right of this central feature are five segmental arched doorways, each punctuated by circular openings at the level of the arches, with loft openings above each door that have boarded hatches. The left side of this range has been somewhat altered but still retains two loft openings. The barn is situated at right angles to the left side. Full-height barn doors are preserved to the right of center, and to the left, in front of the barn, is a single-storey lean-to building with five doorways, likely serving as an additional stable block.
