Description

A row of four houses and shops dating from the late 18th century, located on the south side of Market Place, Market Bosworth. The buildings are constructed of brick with plain tiled roofs. They stand two stories high and have varied plan forms, consisting of one or two units each. Numbers 16 and 18 feature former 19th-century shop fronts, incorporating panelled doors with overlights and wide, multi-paned windows set within moulded wooden architraves. Other ground-floor windows are 12-pane sashes with cambered brick heads. Upper-floor windows are 24-pane sashes. A deep, moulded wood eaves cornice runs along the top of the buildings. The row has gable and axial stacks. Although appearing as a terrace, the properties are not of uniform construction, and their floor levels do not align.
